WP plugin: Hide affiliate link with Pretty Link

Affiliate links are more complicated and looks weird. Most blogger hide their affiliate link, not to hide from visitor that they are making money from it, but to make easier to remember only one link instead of that long URL.

Pretty link is wordpress plugin which make your affiliate link to your regular blog URL.

For example: If you have signed up for thesis theme affiliate program, you might have link looks like http://diythemes.com/affiliate/xxxxyyyyzzzzz. You want to make http://yourdomain.com/affiliate/thesistheme, you can do it easily using Pretty link wordpress plugin.

Features of Pretty Link Plugin:

- Give you simple URL to redirect any affiliate or other links.

- Give custom slug for URL according to your choice.

- Make group for different category links such as themes, services and plugins.

- Ability to track hits per link.

Everyone want to setup their blog very easily. In my last post I talked little hard way to show favicon in wordpress, and even some of visitor complained that, it is not working. So, I decided to make post for Personal Favicon plugin, which help newbies to show favicon for their blog. (this is for wordpress user only..!)

Before I talk about this plugins let’s see screen shot of setting page.

If you can see image clear, just click on image.

You can see in setting area, you need to fill one field with your Favicon Icon URL and another you have to choose where do you want to show this favicon such as on blog, admin page or blog and admin page both.

Then, you might think that which plugins I should use to make my blog little advance than other. Here are top 5 out of thousand from my point of view:

WordPress itself is friendly version of SEO but if we want to make it more search engine optimized than all blogger should have it. Floating soical networking button – Worpdress

After lot of messages from visitor, I though I should make post for floating social networking button in wordpress. As, you can see it looks attractive and make them to click on. By doing this, we will get more traffic.

We can do it with two way. First if you are using thesis theme than you will definitely customize using custom code. Another way is for other user who is using theme other than thesis. We will use plugins to do it. If you want to know what is thesis, then you can refer to my previous post “Why do I love thesis theme?“

1. Trick for Thesis user

First of all you should open file name custom.css

Copy and past below code in it.
