Make announcement using Thickbox Announcement wordpress plugin

In my previous post, I showed you how to make sticky post in wordpress to show user some important announcement or news about anything. But why use sticky post if you could do same thing with wordpress plugin.

Yes, Thick Box announcement plug in allows you to make announcement using small windows.Take look at setting page.

Feature of Thickbox Announcement WordPress Plugin:

- Select time period to show announcement.

- Choose once, periodically or every time to display announcement.

- Give title to announcement.

- Select width and height of announcement windows.

- Select content to show as announcement either link or note.

Why did I move to WordPress?

As, you have noticed from some day that, I changed my Blog platform from Blogger to Woedpress. I didn’t like wordpress when I started to use it. But after some day, I love to use wordpress as blog platform because of many features in wordpress seft hosted blog.

List of feature:

- Easy installation and Upgrade.

- Easy importing post from other blog platform.

- Lot of theme option (WordPress Themes)

- Pasword protected page and posts

- Highly search engine optimized.

- Spam protection on comments

- User registration so you can use them as CMS

- A lot of Plug-Ins ( WordPress Plugins)

To use this feature and make my blog more search engine optimized, wordpress is best for me. I though that I should move to wordpress and start to give some tutorial related to wordpress tricks and hack. So, now on I will also write about wordpress and wordpress theme tricks.

WordPress is best and I will recommend you to choose wordpress as blog platform if you are newbie or already blog user. In future I will post some important post related to move to wordpress from blogger. So don’t forget to subscribe with us, if you don’t want to miss it.

Content Glider is featured contents on page and here is tutorial for its setting.
This code is base for it. Just copy this code and paste it in notepad or word processor.

Change the text:-

* POST-LINK-LOCATION with your featured article link address
* POST-TITLE with your article title.
* HOVER TITLE with your short description. TITLE is hover, that will show when your mouse put over the link.
* TEXT OR SHORT PARAGRAPH with your own paragraph. You can also put image using code as I did.

To add this customization in blogger.

1. Log in to your Blogger Account.
2. Go to LAYOUT — ADD PAGE ELEMENT
3. you will see Featured Post Gadget
4. press edit, then paste your own customization into the box
5. save …

Set godaddy domain for Blogger

Here are the steps that worked for me and hopefully they will work for you too:

Set all these settings in the GoDaddy Domain Manager. Then, after you’ve set all these settings, make the change on Blogger/Blogspot to use the custom domain.
